This company is building a social investing platform that lets everyday users discover, follow, and copy expert portfolios. With $50M+ raised and a rapidly growing user base, they’re scaling a platform that already handles millions of API calls a day.

You’ll work in a small, sharp team and own core parts of the backend stack. There’s no bloated process or endless meetings — you’ll be deploying to production in your first week. And you’ll help build a system that scales fast — because the platform is.

What you’ll be doing

• Building backend services and APIs in Python (with some legacy C#/.NET Core)

• Migrating core functionality from .NET to Python

• Building and owning infrastructure using AWS, EKS, Kafka, Postgres, DynamoDB, Lambdas, SNS/SQS

• Ensuring performance, reliability, and uptime as traffic scales

• Collaborating across teams to integrate backend systems into a growing product

• Taking full ownership of your work — from design to deployment to monitoring

You’ll thrive if you have:

• 5+ years’ backend engineering experience (Python, .NET, or similar)

• Experience building distributed systems in AWS

• Previous startup exposure (especially through growth stages)

• Comfort navigating and improving existing codebases while contributing to new builds

• A high shipping tempo — you like delivering quickly, not polishing for weeks

• Strong judgment and foresight — you can “see around corners” as systems scale

Nice to have:

• Fintech, brokerage, or trading platform experience

• Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus)

• Experience with financial data, transaction-heavy systems, or mobile-first platforms
