This might be your dream job if…
You like moving fast. You’re the kind of engineer who ships code in days, not weeks.
You’ve worked at startups through real scaling problems – and still enjoyed it.
You care about building real-time systems that don’t fall over when usage spikes.
And you’re excited about powering a fintech product that’s changing how people invest.
This company is building a social investing platform that lets everyday users discover, follow, and copy expert portfolios. With $50M+ raised and a rapidly growing user base, they’re scaling a platform that already handles millions of API calls a day.
You’ll work in a small, sharp team and own core parts of the backend stack. There’s no bloated process or endless meetings — you’ll be deploying to production in your first week. And you’ll help build a system that scales fast — because the platform is.
What you’ll be doing
-
Building backend services and APIs in Python (with some legacy C#/.NET Core)
-
Migrating core functionality from .NET to Python
-
Building and owning infrastructure using AWS, EKS, Kafka, Postgres, DynamoDB, Lambdas, SNS/SQS
-
Ensuring performance, reliability, and uptime as traffic scales
-
Collaborating across teams to integrate backend systems into a growing product
-
Taking full ownership of your work — from design to deployment to monitoring
You’ll thrive if you have:
-
5+ years’ backend engineering experience (Python, .NET, or similar)
-
Experience building distributed systems in AWS
-
Previous startup exposure (especially through growth stages)
-
Comfort navigating and improving existing codebases while contributing to new builds
-
A high shipping tempo — you like delivering quickly, not polishing for weeks
-
Strong judgment and foresight — you can “see around corners” as systems scale
Nice to have:
-
Fintech, brokerage, or trading platform experience
-
Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus)
-
Experience with financial data, transaction-heavy systems, or mobile-first platforms
