The Role

This is an opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading independent energy & commodities trading groups, supporting the systems that keep global trade moving.
You’ll sit at the very heart of the business partnering with traders, risk managers, and operations, ensuring that the platforms they rely on are up, stable, and driving decisions in real time.
From CTRM applications (including Endur) through to connected upstream and downstream systems, you’ll be the go-to problem solver when it comes to intraday trade capture, EOD reporting, and live position monitoring.
This is not a passive “keep the lights on” role. You’ll be empowered to log, analyse, and fix issues fast, while also identifying patterns, root causes, and long-term improvements that add measurable business value.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Acting as the first line of defense for critical trading systems, keeping platforms stable and traders productive throughout the day.
- Ensuring daily trade capture, risk calculations, and reporting cycles run smoothly, stepping in quickly when something needs fixing.
- Proactively monitoring system health and identifying issues before they impact the desk.
- Working with developers, infrastructure, and vendors to resolve incidents and improve long-term system reliability.
- Balancing quick wins (immediate fixes) with deeper analysis to prevent recurring problems.
- Building strong relationships with front, middle, and back office teams, translating technical issues into business impact
What makes you a great fit:
- Hands-on experience supporting trading applications in commodities, energy, or financial markets
- Good knowledge of CTRM/ETRM systems (Endur highly valued, others welcome)
- Strong SQL and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple incidents and requests in high-pressure trading environments
- Excellent communicator—calm under pressure and able to build trust with both end users and tech teams
